Each post in this series will feature a specific Surname with the known connected names, places , dates, etc. Can you help me fill in the blanks? Today's surname is LONGBOTTOM.
William Chambers LONGBOTTOM was born abt 1870 in East Retford, Nottinghamshire, England. He married Elizabeth Ann COLTON abt 1895 in East Retford, Nottinghamshire. Elizabeth Ann Colton was born abt 1874 also in East Retford, Nottinghamshire. I know they had a son by the name of Albert Edward LONGBOTTOM born 2 Dec 1911 in East Retford, Nottinghamshire.
Does anyone know the parents of William Chambers LONGBOTTOM and/or Elizabeth Ann COLTON? Any further dates, family members, or whatever. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
William Chambers Longbottom's parents were: David Daniel Longbottom, b 1846 in East Retford, Notts, ENG & Betsy (possibly Chambers??)b 1851 in West Retford, Notts, ENG. The 1861 census stated David was 15 yrs. The 1881 census shows David with 5 children, gives wife's name as Betsy with her b year & place. Children were William Chambers 1871; John 1873; Mary Jane 1878; Anni 1879; Frank 1881. (smiles,Joy)
